About Navigation Services: The Navigation Services extension is Apple's new enhancement to the Open File and Save File dialog boxes in the Mac OS. Navigation Services represents a quantum leap in the user-friendliness of file dialogs, which now appear much more like the Macintosh Finder interface. This extension is compatible with Mac OS 7.5.5 or later.
Installation: To install Navigation Services, drag the "Navigation" icon on top of your System Folder. Allow the Macintosh to place the file in the Extensions folder. From then on, applications will immediately be able to take advantage of Navigation Services.
After you've installed Navigation Services: Only software which is designed for Navigation Services will show an immediate benefit. Since Apple's future OS plans give strong incentives to developers for implementing Navigation Services—such as full compatibility with the upcoming Mac OS X—support for Navigation Services is likely to become widespread very soon.
